On December 2, 2020 in the framework of the UNDP/Ministry of Ecology, Geology and Natural Resources project “Assistance in renewing Kazakhstan’s nationally defined contributions” the final Session of the Seminar “IMPLEMENTATION OF ISO STANDARDS IN GREENHOUSE GASES MANAGEMENT SPACE” was held online.

At the opening of the Session the following speeches were made remarks: Deputy Director General of the National Accreditation Center of MIT K. Taizhanov and Member of the TC for validation and verification of greenhouse gases, Member of the Council on “green” economy under the President of Kazakhstan, Director of “Green Academy” B.Yessekina.

D. Permigotti, ISO International Expert (Italy); I. Lisova, Head of the Association of “ETS KZ Verifiers”; B. Akhmetova, Director of a Department of JSC “Zhasyl Damu” delivered Presentations.

Participants of the final session – representatives of NEP “Atameken”, “Kazenergy”, “Republican Association of Mining and Metallurgical Enterprises” (AGMP), Union of verifiers of Kazakhstan “ETS KZ Verifiers”, “Association of verifiers in the field of greenhouse gases” and other enterprises discussed the improvement of greenhouse gas emissions trading system, as well as changes made in the framework of the new Environmental Code of Kazakhstan and the introduction of ISO standards in the validation and verification processes at the enterprises of the state.

In the course of discussions, it was proposed to discuss areas of harmonization of ISO standards and the draft “Rules for validation and verification” prepared by the MEGNR of Kazakhstan at the platform of Technical Committee for Accreditation of Validation and Verification Bodies at the National Accreditation Center of MIT Kazakhstan.
