COOPERATION WITH PAKISTAN IN THE FIELD OF CARBON NEUTRALITY

Within the framework of the official visit of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan, K. Tokayev, to Islamabad on 3–4 February 2026, the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of the Republic of Kazakhstan organized a series of meetings with the leadership and representatives of Pakistani universities and research centers.

At the premises of one of the leading universities of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan — the University of Agriculture, Faisalabad — a Memorandum of Cooperation was signed with the Research and Educational Center “Green Academy”. The Memorandum focuses on the implementation of scientific and technological projects aimed at establishing an innovative climate hub in Central Asia, improving and developing the greenhouse gas emissions trading system, and ensuring the participation of experts from both countries in climate finance mechanisms.

Agreements were also reached on holding joint events, including within the framework of the Regional Ecological Summit in Astana in April 2026. The coverage of the bilateral meetings involved the leadership and experts of the information agency “Caravan-Info.”
