In accordance with the recommendations of the IV session of the Parliamentary Commission on Monitoring the Implementation of National SDGs, the Research and Educational Center “Green Academy” together with the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the University of Central Asia, and with the support of the SIPA OECD project, will hold a Round Table in Tekeli on July 5, 2024, on the topic “Ways to Achieve SDG 7 and SDG 13 in Zhetysu.”

The goal of the event is to discuss the status, potential, and priorities for achieving SDG 7 and SDG 13 in the Zhetysu region, opportunities for participation in the 29th session of the Conference of the Parties to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP29), and to develop recommendations for the Roadmap of the Strategy for Achieving Carbon Neutrality of the Republic of Kazakhstan by 2060 (SACN).

Participants of the Round Table in a hybrid format will include deputies of the Senate of the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan, representatives of the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources, the Ministry of Energy, the Ministry of Water Resources and Irrigation of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Akimats of Zhetysu and Tekeli, research institutes and universities of Almaty and the region, UNDP, EU, ADB, SIPA/OECD, GIZ, international and national experts, business associations, and NGOs.
