As known, by the Decree of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan K.K. Tokayev, aimed at achieving the UN Sustainable Development Goals and implementing the Paris Agreement of February 2, 2023, the Strategy for achieving carbon neutrality of the Republic of Kazakhstan until 2060 (hereinafter – the Strategy) was approved.

In order to implement this Strategy, the Research and Educational Center “Green Academy”, together with the Karaganda Technical University named after A. Saginov with the support of the SIPA OECD project, will hold an Expert Seminar on the topic “Priorities of integrating ESG in the basic sectors of the Kazakhstan economy” on May 10, 2024.

The objective of the event is to develop recommendations to the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan on integrating ESG principles in the basic sectors of the Kazakhstan economy, including in enterprises of the mining and metallurgical and agroindustrial complexes.

The seminar will involve international and national experts, as well as the leadership and teaching staff of universities and research institutes of Kazakhstan, including the D. Kunaev Institute of Mining, A. Saginov Karaganda Technical University, S. Seifullin Kazakh Agrotechnical University, Karaganda Industrial University, E. Buketov Karaganda State University, representatives of national companies, business associations and NGOs.
