The event was organized by the Almaty University of Power Engineering and Telecommunications named after Gumarbek Daukeev (AUPET), the Scientific and Educational Center “Green Academy”, and the international consulting center “Carbon Lab” (Moscow, RF).
The purpose of the event is to discuss the Instructions of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan K.Zh. Tokayev. They are presented in the Messages to the people of Kazakhstan “Constructive dialogue is the basis of stability and prosperity in Kazakhstan” and “Kazakhstan in a new reality: time for action.” One of the points is to ensure “green” growth and the foundations of deep decarbonization of the economy. of the AUPET Rector Sagintayeva Saule Savetovna.
Deputies of the Mazhilis of the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan, representatives of central and local government bodies, science, business companies and Scientific Production Associations took part in the webinar.
AUPET Rector S. Sagintayeva made a welcoming speech, who noted the importance of the problems of decarbonization of the economy of Kazakhstan in the framework of solving global environmental problems.

Dr. Mikhail Yulkin – General Director of the Center for Environmental Investments, international expert, Moscow, RF presented a report on the topic “International experience of decarbonization and carbon tax”;
Dr. Ivano Yannelli – General Director of the Carbon Center of Excellence (UAE, Dubai) shared his experience of decarbonization in the UAE;
Dr. Esekina Bakhyt Kamalbekovna – Member of the Council for Green Economy under the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Director of the REC “Green Academy” presented the directions of decarbonization of the economy in Kazakhstan.
Head of the Association of Environmental Organizations of the Republic of Kazakhstan A. Solovyova; Director of the Institute for Advanced Studies of AUPET Doctor of Economics, Professor R.K. Satova; Expert of the Center for Green Finance of the International Financial Center of Astana A. Kusalieva; The chief expert of the National Accreditation Center A. Esenzholova and others took part in the discussions.
In total, over 60 people took part in the seminar. Based on the results of the webinar, proposals on decarbonization of carbon regulation in the Republic of Kazakhstan will be summarized and sent to the WG of the Mazhilis of the Parliament for inclusion in the Ecocode of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
