On 6th November, 2020 was held an Expert e-meeting on “OECD GREEN GROWTH STRATEGY: INTERNATIONAL EXPERIENCE AND KAZAKHSTAN”.

On 6th November, 2020 was held an Expert e-meeting on “OECD GREEN GROWTH STRATEGY: INTERNATIONAL EXPERIENCE AND KAZAKHSTAN“.

The event was organized by Scientific and Educational Center “GREEN
ACADEMY”, Academy of Public Administration under the President of Kazakhstan (ASU) and Green Growth and Global Relations Division at the OECD Environment Directorate.

          Purpose of the event is to discuss the international experience of the OECD green growth strategy instruments, in the framework  of the implementation of the tasks set in the Address of the President of Kazakhstan K.Tokayev to Kazakhstani people “Kazakhstan in a new reality: time for action.”

Representatives of government bodies, international organizations, higher educational institutions, research institutes, PhD students and Master students of the Academy of Public Administration under the President of Kazakhstan are expected to participate in the e-meeting.

The following persons delivered speeches and made presentations:
Akzan Shiranov – Director of the Department of Environmental Policy and Sustainable Development, MEGNR RoK; Kumi Kitamori – Head of Green Growth & Global Relations Division at the OECD Environment Directorate; Dr. Bakhyt Yesekina – OECD National Consultant, “Green Academy”, Director, Professor; Aigul Kosherbaeva – Vice-Rector of ASU.

Speakers made recommendations to the Government of Kazakhstan to promote green growth, in particular on:

  • Improvement of the national  statistic system  based on  the OECD “green” indicators
  • Modernization of the planning system and taxation with considering the “green” indicators;
  • Research of blockchain  technology for monitoring of SDGs progress;
  • Development of capacity building  program  for decision-makers, business and NGOs

Event was moderated by Aigul Kosherbaeva, Vice-Rector of the Academy of Public Administration under the President of Kazakhstan.
